Parents Inc. is the largest self-help organization in the state whose purpose is to protect children by strengthening families. We provide free evidence-based Parents Anonymous® community-based self-help support groups for parents. In addition, Parents Inc. provides a 24-hour, 7 day-a-week Helpline for parents, teens and children to access information and referrals to community agencies in their area, a safe, non-judgmental place to talk about family issues. The purpose of the Family Helpline is to provide support to parents before a crisis happens. Most parents who call the line are under stress and want to avoid a hurtful episode with their children. The Helpline serves as both intervention and prevention measures. The Parents Inc. Family Helpline 1-800-THE-KIDS ( ) is staffed by volunteers who graciously give their time to be available to parents who need to talk. Volunteers receive experiential training and continuing education provided by Parents Inc. staff.
