Job Description Tim Young Construction is URGENTLY seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for commercial and retail projects in the Jacksonville / NE Florida area. Must have a minimum of 10 years of construction experience, including at least 5 years as a commercial construction superintendent. Job Summary: The superintendent is responsible for supervision and coordination of all job site construction activities and working with the project manager to ensure the successful completion of individual building projects. Seeking a team player, with excellent communication and leadership skills. Core Responsibilities: • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise all subcontractors on site. • Manage construction activities to meet schedule requirements. • Prepare and submit daily reports to the Project Manager. • Ensure compliance with all contract documents – drawings, specifications, RFI’s, etc. • Ensure quality workmanship. • Manage safety program and ensure OSHA safety compliance. • Coordinate inspections with local building department. • Maintain positive relationships with project manager, owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Required Skills: • Proficient at reading plans and specifications. • Superior verbal and written communications skills – including phone calls, emails, and texts. • Strong leadership and time management skills. • Ability to identify and solve problems. • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook. • OSHA safety certification strongly preferred, but we can also provide training. • Experience with multiple types of commercial construction a plus: retail, convenience stores, car washes, churches, educational, automotive, etc. • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation is required.
