SALARY: $25.81/hour How To Apply: Please visit our website www.pps.net/jobs and use Job Number 21832 Portland Public Schools (PPS) Maintenance Department is looking for a Journeyman Roofer who provides expert level, skilled roofing work in the repair and maintenance of District facilities. We invite you to apply if you are able to prepare surfaces for application of undercoats and finish coats of roofing adhesives and coatings using the full range of application methods and materials; advise in the selection and storage of roofing materials. Under general supervision, performs journey level work in the repair and maintenance of a wide variety of roofing surfaces and structures; may direct the work of other classified staff in the area; and perform related work as required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Completion of a qualified apprenticeship program in a related field; OR three (3) or more years of education or training in residential, commercial and/or industrial roofing. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Experience: Three (3) years of experience in residential and commercial/industrial practices and processes of the roofing trade. A combination of related training and experience which equals three (3) years. Any other combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be considered.
