Our client, a public agency in Fountain Valley is seeking an Environmental Technician to support their efforts. In this role, you need to know MS Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and Maximo. Also, experience with working as a Laboratory Assistant, including basic sampling and lab testing is highly desired. Duties include: -Wastehauler Station Coverage. This includes oversight of OC San permitted waste hauler trucks using the designated waste hauler station at Plant 1. Coverage involves hauler verification, manifest review, sample collection, and waste screening, and the observation of approved discharges for sanitary, grease, and brine hauled waste streams. A secondary, but equally important component to coverage is daily data entry of wastehauler manifests into the IPACS computer data management system. - Technician Room Coverage. This includes maintaining sampling equipment and supplies for the Source Control Inspection staff. Composite samplers must be maintained daily with washing and inspection steps so they may be deployed by field staff for monitoring of industrial users and in other studies/investigations. Consumable supplies must also be kept in stock in the Technician Room and requested through the Maximo asset management/work request software for pick up at the OCSD warehouse. -Trunkline Monitoring Sampling. This includes the monthly sampling for the trunkline monitoring program conducted at OCSD Plants 1 and 2. Sample collection is done using refrigerated sigma samplers and other sampling equipment. Samples must be submitted to the laboratory daily for the required analysis. Data collection is kept on designated log sheets and indicates all sampling field notes including time of collection, any samples missed, color, and pH.
