Description

Learn how to create a steadiness and calm in your practice through awareness and adjustment in each posture. “Sthira Sukham Asanam” is one of the most quoted Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Sthira refers to stability and strength. Sukha refers to comfort, ease and openness. It means a yoga posture should be steady, firm and yet also relaxed. This is a delicate balance that requires awareness. The equanimity gained with a balance of both sthira and sukha creates a mental & physical calm. This awareness & practice applies to daily life and the many changes life brings. In this workshop, you'll become aware of which quality you have more of in your practice, and through the practice you'll become aware of how to become more balanced and grounded. Workshop is composed of: - brief lecture of Sthira and Sukha and its origins. If you are interested in this, please see sutra 2.46 from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras: “sthira-sukham asanam”. - General Yoga practice * wear comfortable clothes, layers work best. Please bring water!
