Description
Cesar Zuniga is running for City Council in District 38 and is looking for paid relational organizers to talk, educate and persuade friends and family about his candidacy. The election is June 22nd, and we are looking to bring people on ASAP. This is a paid opportunity, with a rate of $10 per 10 conversations you have. You can expect to have at least 15 conversations an hour, with no max on the amount of people you can reach. You must also complete at least one shift between 6/19 and 6/21 where you reach out to all voters you’ve contacted.
Organizers will go through a training before starting the program.
Political canvass experience is great to put on a resume and helps build upon communication skills, and creates a foundation for potential future involvement in politics, organizing, or fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Effectively articulate issues and campaign positions to voters.
- Communicate and educate voters about Ranked Choice Voting implementation this year.
- Engage with and talk to voters in your network
- Regularaly and accurately recording and syncing data from responses.
- Follow COVID Social distancing guidelines-safety protocols
Qualities Required
- Must live in, or have a large network in District 38 (Red Hook, Sunset Park, Greenwood Heights and parts of Windsor Terrace, Dyker Heights & Borough Park)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Comfortable engaging with community members and friends in conversation
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to speak Spanish or Chinese is preferred but not required
