Taste all the flavors of San Mateo County at the Event Center and support the health of our community! The San Mateo County Health Foundation (SMCHF) is thrilled to announce our 1st Annual Taste of the County event at the San Mateo County Event Center. During the pandemic, many restaurants rose to the occasion. They donated tens of thousands of meals that were able to feed county families in need and healthcare heroes at San Mateo Medical Center. This amazing example of community spirit inspired us to invite all of you to enjoy the delicious food prepared by the same wonderful restaurants. The best part is each event ticket, raffle ticket, or buddy pack (4 VIP tickets) you purchase will be donated to our Foundation, be used to support the county hospital and citizens, and allow you to taste the food served during the event. The Foundation Supporter Family has been instrumental in helping provide this to the 77,000 underinsured and uninsured patients that walk through the doors of the Medical Center every year. During 2020-2021, Foundation Supporters allowed us to contribute over 100,000 PPE to healthcare frontliners, 95,000 diapers to county families, over 15,000 meals for Medical Center staff and households diagnosed with COVID, and critical funding for Medical Center equipment.
