Book release event for "Permanent Damage" with conversation from co-author Lyndsey Parker and Pamela Des Barres plus special guests
Stories Books and Cafe will host a book event for the release of "Permanent Damage: Memoir of an Outrageous Girl" about the life of Mercy Fontenot. The evening will include a conversation with co-author Lyndsey Parker and Pamela Des Barres, special acoustic set from Starcrawler and dj set from Miles Tackett (Funky Sole)
"Permanent Damage: Memoir of an Outrageous Girl" chronicles the 1960s and 70s music scene and world through the eyes of Mercy Fontenont. Fontenot was a Zelig character who crossed paths with Charles Manson, Alice Cooper, and Jimi Hendrix to name a few. Her work with the GTOs, the Frank Zappa produced all female band, launched her into the pages of Rolling Stone. In a recent Guardian review, Jim Farber states, "the book reads like a romp, aided by Mercy's keen sense of the absurd and flair for black humor."
