This session will look at the survey activities required for permitting the local companies that have been involved in the effort and more. This session will look at the survey activities required for permitting the local companies that have been involved in that effort, and some of the emerging technologies being accelerated through the Ørsted Innovation Hub. The session will also highlight trends in the industry for local companies to identify opportunities and identify infrastructure requirements for new vessel technologies, while also highlighting the opportunity for RI to serve as a testbed for new technologies where intellectual property can be created and exported regionally/globally. Intro (5 minutes) – Will Cotta, Offshore Wind Supply Chain Director, RI Commerce Introduce speakers, highlight Revolution Wind and 600 MW procurement. Ørsted Innovation Hub (20 minutes) – Neil Hamel, Innovation Hub Manager Pathway for startups to advance from R&D to commercialization with Ørsted and partner support. A member of the site investigation team will present on Orsted’s work Inspire Environmental (15 minutes) – TBD Discuss how Inspire Environmental has been working for RI and other state projects, and the role of regional collaboration. Discuss how the company has grown with the increased demand for offshore wind. Discussion on data from the existing Block Island Wind Farm, and what that tells says about future projects. MMT/Ocean Infinity (15 minutes) – TBD Discuss the initial and ongoing survey requirements for permitting offshore wind. Discuss the role of partnerships (Reach Subsea, Okeanus, others) in leveraging expertise and equipment. Discuss the HSQE requirements for operating at sea. What the pathway forward with Ocean Infinity might look like.
