ELWOOD, NY — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Elwood on Saturday night, Suffolk police said. Lavell Jones, 43, of East Northport, was riding a 2021 Kawasaki westbound on Jericho Turnpike, east of Elwood Road, when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a pole at 9:53 p.m., police said. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, and the vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
