Nursing Home Week Brings "Staff Togetherness" at Triboro Center

Last month, National Nursing Home Week (May 9 through May 15) brought out the best of the nursing home staff to enjoy one another, as well as to increase the amount of activities throughout the facility for their residents, getting back to a pre-pandemic level. Since 2020 was a quiet year all around for Triboro Center and other New York City skilled nursing facilities, leadership at the Teller Avenue facility decided to have a spring carnival day on their patio to boost staff morale. This great idea took place on May 13 and staff were treated to games, face painting, balloon art, food and, yes, a dunk tank! Administrator Nate Goldman became no stranger to that dunk tank. A "suit and tie-less" Administrator Nate Goldman ready for the plunge "This was an idea in the making for a long time and it was worth the wait," said Nate Goldman, Triboro Center's Administrator. "To see my staff having a great time, this showed that the tides have turned in this pandemic. The pandemic is still a serious matter and we are being as diligent as ever, but staff and residents needs to be themselves again." (L-R) Having a great time at the Triboro Center carnival are Ashley Gonzalez, Assistant Director of Admissions and Genesis Rodriguez, HMO Coordinator National Nurses Week 2022 will be from May 6 to May 12 next year already the facility is thinking about what activities and fun will be offered to the residents and how they can again increase morale amongst the staff.
