CAMBRIDGE, MA — REI will open a new small format neighborhood store in Cambridge Crossing, company management announced Monday. Opening this fall, the store plans to bring in products designed to fit the Cambridge community that prioritizes an active outdoor lifestyle. A heavy focus for the store will curate to the runners and cyclers around Greater Boston. Customers and members will be able to access the company's full offerings on REI.com through in-store consultation services and virtual outfitting. The 6,500 square-foot store will be part of the innovative Cambridge Crossing community and serve the nearly 579,000 lifetime members throughout Greater Boston along with newcomers to the area and the co-op.
