Be part of history and register to join our Stonewall Pride 2021 Juneteenth Flash Mob. For the 1st time EVER, Stonewall Pride falls on Juneteenth, the cherished American Holiday that celebrates Black American Culture and the abolition of slavery. The historic event couldn't be more of a "Match made in Unity!!!" If it wasn't for Queer People of Color like Marsha P. Johnson who helped championed the onset of LGBTQ+ Liberation with the Stonewall Riots of June 1969, we wouldn't be celebrating a Stonewall Pride today. With all our love and gratitude, Stonewall Pride will be paying tribute to the honored June 19th Holiday with an array of programming the day of Pride. One such programming is our "Juneteenth Flash Mob Performance!" The storyboard music mix from black and brown artists that we'll be dancing to speaks to aspects of the queer experience. Register as a Solo Participant or bring your friends and participant as a Group. ****Practice Zoom Meeting: leading up to Pride, all registered participants will be sent a zoom link to a practice meeting so that we can build a sense of camaraderie/momentum and dance the steps together that we learned at home from the practice video. ***All Flash Mob details on within the practice video below. ***Flash Mob colors: Black, Green, and Red. The Wilton Manors Entertainment Group (WMEG) is a 501(c)3 non-profit that works in conjunction with the City of Wilton Manors to plan, coordinate, and produce major festivals and events for the City of Wilton Manors. Since 2016 WMEG has produced the annual Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival. The Festival is always on the third Saturday of June and attracts more than 33,000 attendees, more than 80 entries in the parade, and almost 100 vendors and exhibitors in the Marketplace.
