Actually, the 2bd amendment allows citizens to keep and bear arms "in order to maintain a well-regulated militia". That works for me! Go to Iraq or Afghanistan. Get your head blown off or your legs blown off. That's the risk I'll have to take.
Of course, our founding fathers knew what was to come. Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson both had fine collections of AR-15s and AK -47's. Dolly Madison had a lovely AR-15 with a mother-of-pearl handle. I believe she called it "The Sandy Hook Lullaby".
Now that TX has passed a "Constitutional Carry" law, go in a Dallas bar on a Friday night - kinda late, kinda' loud, kinda' dark, everybody kinda' drunk, and everybody kinda' armed. Light a pack of firecrackers and watch the fun!
