PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — All registered voters in Virginia are eligible to vote in Tuesday's Democratic Party Primary. The primary will determine which candidates will appear on the Nov. 2 ballot in the following statewide races: governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general, as well as local representatives to the Virginia House of Delegates. In the Manassas area, voters will be able to support their preferred House of Delegates candidate in the 50th district. The incumbent candidate, Lee Carter, is also running for governor. He is being opposed by Helen Anne Zurita and Michelle E. Lopes-Maldonado. The Virginia Republican Party has already chosen its candidates for the Nov. 2 election during a May 8 convention. Before heading to the polls, voters can check their registration status online, and they can also find their polling place and find out what identification they'll need. Early voting for the Democratic Party began on April 23. Those ballots can be deposited in the drop-off box outside the elections office in Manassas, at the A.J. Ferlazzo Building across from the Gar-Field Police Station in Woodbridge, or at the Haymarket Community Library.
