SheezyTaughtMe presents: The Melanated Mixer (A Juneteenth Open Mic Experience) SheezyTaughtMe presents: The Melanated Mixer (A Juneteenth Open Mic Experience) The Melanated Mixer is evening of Detroit culture fortified with the intention of providing tangible liberation by way of music, libations, communion and spoken word. A special poetry workshop taught by Detroit Poetry Society co-founder "Sheezy Bo Beezy", will immerse participants in a unique journey of independence and ancestral reverence; while also healthily challenging their literary abilities. Participants will also have a chance to experience, and mingle with; the who's who of Detroit's illustrious spoken word culture. The evening will include an open mic, a plethora of local black vendors, food and drink specials,and a very intentionally melanated DJ set by Detroit's own DJ Nefyu.
