PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County native Melody Hurd will appear in comedian Kevin Hart's newest movie "Fatherhood," FOX 5 DC first reported on May 14. The 9-year-old plays Hart's daughter in the comedy and drama about a single dad whose wife died after giving birth to Hurd's character. "Fatherhood" will premier June 18 on Netflix.
Hurd is also featured in Amazon's new series "Them." Her latest project is a thriller about a Black family that moves into an all-white Los Angeles neighborhood. Season one is viewable at this link.
Hurd additionally played in "Battle at Big Rock." The 2019 short film is part of the "Jurassic Park" series.
Though Hurd has been in Hollywood for a few years, she is still a true Marylander at heart.
"My favorite thing about Maryland is Rita's ice cream," Hurd told FOX 5 DC. "My [other] favorite thing about Maryland is crabs. I love crabs."
