SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police and unedited by Patch, all of last week's arrests: At 7:28 a.m. on May 31, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 29-year-old male, Edwin Sanchez-Dela Cruz of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $550. Newark did release Mr. Sanchez-Dela Cruz on his own recognizance pending a future court date. Sanchez-Dela Cruz was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and he was released from police custody. At 2:24 a.m. on June 1, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 25-year-old male, Kevin Patino of Fairview, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mr. Patino was also found to have 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $500. Patino was able to post bail for the involved warrant. Mr. Patino was served his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released into the custody of a responsible adult. At 1:39 a.m. on June 2, Secaucus Police responded to the parking lot of the Shell gas station located at 300 Rt. 3 East on a report of a dispute. During the investigation, the police arrested a 23-year-old male of Paterson, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50] and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4A]. The male was served his complaint warrant along with five motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail. At 10:46 a.m. on June 2, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 26-year-old male, Carlos Laborde of Secaucus, NJ for one outstanding warrant issued out of Union Beach, NJ in the amount of $224. Laborde was also charged with Possession of CDS believed to be Cocaine [2C:35-10A(1)]. Laborde was able to post bail for the involved warrant. Laborde was served his complaint summons along with 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody. At 8:13 p.m. on June 2, Secaucus Police responded to the Secaucus Super Car Wash located at 200 Flanagan Way on a report of an attempted burglary. Several hours after this incident, on 06/03/2021 at 1:00 AM, the police responded to the 4000 Building of Riverside Station Boulevard on a report of an individual trespassing. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31-year-old male, Kareem Rodgers of North Bergen, NJ for Criminal Attempt of Burglary [2C:5-1A(1)/2C:18-2a(1)] for the incident that occurred earlier at the Secaucus Super Car Wash. Rodgers was further charged with Possession of CDS believed to be Methamphetamine [2C:35-10A(1)] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2]. Rodgers was served his complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 9:59 p.m. on June 4, Secaucus Police responded to the Edison Park Fast located at 675 New County Road on a report of a suspicious activity. During the investigation, the police arrested a 30-year-old female, Sheba Flood of Uniondale, NY for Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(2)] for breaking the rear mirror of a vehicle. Flood was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D] for possessing a Whip, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon [2C:39-5D] for possessing 2 knives and Illegally Possessing a Device identified as OC Chemical Spray [2C:39-6I(1)]. Flood was served her complaint summons and was released from police custody. At 12:12 a.m. on June 6, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 20-year-old male, Joel Hernandez of Ridgefield, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Ridgefield Park, NJ in the amount of $1,500. Hernandez was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued two motor vehicle summonses and he was released from police custody. At 2:46 a.m. on June 6, Secaucus Police observed a vehicle stopped in the right lane of Route 3 East Service Road with the hazard lights on. During the investigation, the police arrested a 42-year-old female, Ana Mendez-Madera of Paterson, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Mendez-Madera was served her motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 3 motor vehicle summonses and she was released into the custody of a responsible adult. At 3:22 a.m. on June 6, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 26-year-old male, Ernest Asamoah of Clifton, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Asamoah was served his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 4 motor vehicle summonses and he was released into the custody of a responsible adult. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
