CBS San Francisco June 7, 2021 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — When Yuka Saso's putt rolled in on the third playoff holes at Sunday's U.S. Women's Open, the roar of the crowd could be heard well beyond the fairways of the Olympic Club. Saso became the first player from the Philippines to win a golf major and it seemed fitting the historic feat took place at Olympic. The course is nestled into Daly City — a city with the largest concentration of Filipino-Americans in the nation. All week long, a large group of vocal supporters followed her on the course. Because of COVID restrictions still in place, only Olympic Club members were able to attend, making the gathering all that more impressive.
