NEWTOWN, PA — The Newtown community is mourning the loss of a schoolteacher who died unexpectedly over the weekend. A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of Jeremy Donmoyer, 40, who was a physical education teacher at Palisades Middle School. His wife, Dawn, teaches at Holland Middle School. They have five children. Details surrounding Donmoyer's death were not immediately available. Those who knew him say he was a loving father, an attentive teacher and a supportive coach for the Palisades Middle School basketball team. A GoFundMe page has been created to help support the Donmoyer family. As of Monday morning, more than $69,000 has been raised. "During this vulnerable time, Dawn will need financial assistance to ease the burden of caring for the children, their future schooling, and so much more moving forward without their beloved dad," writes Erinn Demskis, the GoFundMe organizer. The Council Rock Education Foundation is organizing meal deliveries for the family. The donation page can be found here. Rita's Water Ice at the Village Shires Shopping Center in Holland is holding a fundraiser for the family on Wednesday. All of the day's sales will be donated to the Donmoyer family.
