WOODBURY, MN — The 14-year-old boy who was fatally shot at a graduation party Saturday has been identified as Demaris Ekdahl, of Maplewood, Woodbury Police Department said. Ekdahl was shot around 10:46 p.m. Edgewood Avenue in Woodbury, police said. Witnesses said a white SUV was involved in the shooting before fleeing the area, and a black SUV or truck may have also been involved, police said. Ekdahl died after being taken to Regions Hospital, police said. Nobody else was hurt in the shooting, police said. Michelle Ekdahl, Demaris' aunt, set up a GoFundMe to cover funeral costs and other expenses for Demaris' family. This is a breaking story and will be updated when more information becomes available.
