ELGIN, IL — A 35-year-old man is dead after a car crash on McLean Boulevard Sunday morning, Elgin police said. According to police reports, the man was driving at a high rate of speed near Big Timber Road when his car crossed the Metra train tracks, causing him to lose control and drive into northbound McLean Boulevard lanes. He continued to swerve until the vehicle hit a traffic gate, police said. The man was pronounced at the scene. His name has not been released pending a full autopsy.
