The Evergreen Park office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago is pleased to announce the start of their annual Community Kindness event. During Community Kindness, held in conjunction with the firm’s Kindness Foundation, each of the company’s 25 offices select local organizations to support. This year, during the month of June, the Evergreen Park office will collect donations for Almost Home Chicago, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide one-on-one support to local homeless populations, offer food to the food insecure and work to increase compassion for under-loved and underserved populations. The Evergreen Park office has scheduled special drop off days on June 19th and 20th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Look for the white tent outside 3580 West 95th Street. Laura Freeman, Managing Broker of the Evergreen Park office, said, “We joined forces with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago in February, so this is our office’s first opportunity to participate in Community Kindness and we can’t wait! Our agents love giving back, so they are reaching out to their clients, friends and family to make a big impact for Almost Home and the people they serve. If you are able to assist us, we would certainly welcome and appreciate your donations.” The office will accept items throughout the month during business hours and has set up a special “blessings box” in the office’s foyer. Contributions can be made during business hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Almost Home’s most needed items include: laundry essentials including laundry soap, fabric softener, dryer sheets, quarters for a laundromat, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, dish soap, hand soap, aluminum foil, 13-gallon garbage bags, sandwich and snack bags, full size shampoo, deodorant for men and women, razors and shaving cream, Q-tips, alcohol and peroxide, full size body wash, full size lotion, feminine products, t-shirts for men and women, socks for men and women, new underwear for men and women in various sizes, non-perishable food items, household items, grocery gift cards, gas gift cards, notebooks, puzzles for adults, small packs of mints, chocolates and hard candy, adult coloring books and colored pencils, packs of pens and highlighters, word searches, cross word puzzles, AA and AAA batteries and monetary donations.
