SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A Concord man has been arrested in connection with a Solano County freeway shooting, the California Highway Patrol said Monday. The shooting was reported at 9:35 a.m. Saturday on northbound Interstate Highway 680, south of Gold Hill Road in the Fairfield area. The victims were not injured but CHP officers found three bullet holes on the right side of their car. Detectives from CHP's Golden Gate Division assumed the investigation and once they identified a suspect vehicle, a search warrant was obtained. Daryl Thornton, 47, of Concord was arrested without incident and was booked into Solano County Jail early Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon (firearm), the CHP said. As of Monday evening, Thornton remained in custody without bail, according to jail records.
