Lawn Care Technician / Plant Health Care Specialist Looking to grow your career with a growing team? We have opportunity for growth! Lucia Landscaping is a premier full-service landscaping company in the Metro Detroit area for over 25 years. We are currently seeking a Commercial Pesticide Applicator for our Lawn, Tree, & Shrub plant health care department. Position Overview: Application of fertilizer and weed control on turf for commercial clientele by means of granular and liquid systems Monitoring and diagnosing lawn deficiencies, damaged and diseased shrubs, plants, and trees Render pesticide applications for insect and disease control and fertilization of trees and shrubs Preparing diagnostic reports and action plans for optimum plant health care to be submitted to client Using an electronic device for manifests, route sheets, work orders, and logging product Communicating with clients on-site when rendering service, answering inquiries, and suggestively selling services based on technician recommendations Adhere to safety protocols as determined by Lucia Landscaping and in conjunction with the State of Michigan Perform lawn aeration and seeding as needed by client request in conjunction with fertilization services Requirements Include: Must possess a Commercial Pesticide Applicator license in 3A, 3B and 6, required Possess a valid State driver license with clean driving record. required; chauffeur or CDL, preferred Possess an education/classwork in related field(s) or equivalent experience as it relates to the green industry, required Working knowledge of applicator and lawn equipment, preferred Demonstrated identification and knowledge of grass types, plants, shrubs, and trees Ability to diagnose and apply appropriate treatment through IPM High School Diploma/GED, required Ability to work 8 hour - 10 hour shifts; primarily Monday-Friday, unless weather or demands of business require work to occur on Saturday (never Sunday) Ability to work in climates ranging from 25 degrees Fahrenheit -100 degrees Fahrenheit Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; walk at moderate pace for portions of the day bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time; Join our Growing Team to receive: Competitive Wages & Bonus Potential Benefits Offered: Health, Dental, Vision, & Life Insurance (after 6 months) Company Sponsored 401K Program (after 6 months) Incentive Programs $1,000 Signing Bonus Opportunity for Advancement Year-Round Employment, if interested (working for our Snow & Ice Management Department) Company Accomplishments: BOMA Metro Detroit Michigan Green Industry Association Member of MNLA Accredited by the Better Business Bureau National Association of Landscape Professionals Top 100 Snow Contractors Member of Snow & Ice Management Association Accredited Snow Contractors Association Award Winning Landscapes To be considered as a candidate, please reply to this posting with a your name, contact information, and work history (resume, if possible).
