Peoples United Methodist Church in Newport, Maine is looking for a pianist/organist/keyboard player. We are a small, country church with a love to worship God with music. Interested applicants must be US citizens, permanent residents or already have obtained legal authorization to work in the United States, and preferably live near or around the surrounding towns to Newport, Maine and must have own transportation. APPOINTMENT: Permanent part-time. QUALIFICATIONS: Keyboard proficient (piano/organ). Familiar with church services is desired but not necessary. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Provide music for Sunday worships at 10 am.  Service including preludes and postludes, hymns, anthems, prayer response music, offertory music, accompanying the choir or other special music.  Accompanying the choir in weekly rehearsals and also warming-up prior to Sunday services.  Willingness to start or experience with Praise music is a plus.  The pianist/organist/keyboard player will also provide music for Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve and/or special services as needed.  Will participate in staff meetings as necessary.  A Job Description is available during the interview. SALARY: This is a paid position. Extra services such as wedding, funerals, etc. will be additional stipend. THE CHURCH: Peoples United Methodist Church is a small but growing country church located on Main Street, Newport, Maine. There is an electric organ with the capacity for the organist to play the bells and a fine piano in the sanctuary.
