Zonge International, Inc. (Zonge) has a 47-year history in geophysical survey services, instrument and software development, and research on advanced geophysical applications. Our Geophysical Services division is currently seeking dedicated field technicians to join our team in the Reno, Nevada office. Field staff provide support for resource exploration programs, groundwater investigations, environmental and engineering geophysical surveys. Our field technicians and geoscientists are the backbone of the geophysical services division and are responsible for acquiring quality geophysical data in remote field locations. This is a position for an outdoor enthusiast or someone accustomed to the road-warrior lifestyle. Will train candidates with the right attitude and love for the outdoors. Compensation dependent on experience. Employer-provided health and dental insurance, 401K, paid holidays and training. Responsibilities of the position include: 90% travel, with travel time, lodging and per diem expenses paid by the company. Our crews work 60-70 hours per week. Average deployments are 21 field days, with a break between deployments. Performing field data collection and assisting other team members in fieldwork necessary to collect geophysical data. Hiking to remote locations and working outdoors for 12+ hours per day, in all climates. Ability to work independently and/or with teams of 4-10 persons. Digging, hammering and other repetitive motions in varied weather conditions. General maintenance of field equipment. Report to Project Manager, Geologist, and/or Geophysicist via daily production logs and safety summary sheets in a clear and concise manner. Requirements: A valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to auto insurance carrier. Pre-employment drug screening is required. All employees are subject to random and client-required drug and alcohol screening. Physically fit. Ability to navigate and work in remote field locations and work outdoors in difficult weather conditions. Ability to lift 75+ lbs. and pack 50 lbs. for extended periods. Basic computer skills. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and use of the Internet. Preferred Skills: Mechanical experience. Ability to read and navigate using topographic maps and GPS systems. Field experience in mineral, engineering, oil and gas, geothermal geology or geophysical exploration helpful but not necessary. Experience in operating geophysical instruments helpful but not required. Gravity survey experience a strong plus. ATV/UTV experience a plus.
