Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC) is a member-owned, cooperative corporation in charge of picking up and processing nearly 100% of all containers redeemed in Oregon. We pick up from over 2,700 retailers and OBRC's BottleDrop Redemption Centers across the state, and recycle millions of containers a day. As a result of what we do, more than 138 million pounds of beverage containers stay out of our landfills each year, and we all enjoy a cleaner, greener Oregon. OBRC is a growing company looking for motivated individuals to join our team and help make Oregon's bottle bill a continued success. We are headquartered in Clackamas, OR, but this route services our customers in Roseburg/Coos Bay territory. POSITION SUMMARY The Machine Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintenance, cleaning and servicing of machinery at various retail establishments, while using company equipment and vehicle for transportation. This position will perform hands on equipment maintenance and repair work while consistently demonstrating safe and efficient work practices with a positive and professional attitude and demeanor. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Perform preventative maintenance of machinery like vending machines Properly clean, align, and test core functions of machines Recognize core function issues and report them to management for repair Understand cleaning methods for most effective working machines Clean and clear machine mechanisms of obstructions Repair/replace most all parts within a machine, including mechanical and electrical parts, belts, bearings, boards, buttons, switches, signals, small motors and pulleys. Be able to follow troubleshooting logic to track down an issue with a non-functioning machine. Maintenance and repair of belts, motors, sensors, and signal wires Basic understanding and ability to swap out components in control panels Interact in a positive manner with customers and the general public Lift, carry and raise to a level of 5 feet items weighing up to 50 lbs. Adhere to safety standards and policies Clean and maintain work area and equipment to ensure a safe work environment Other job duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS A current driver’s license and acceptable driving history is required Attention to details, ability to meet specified deadlines, adjust to changing priorities and work independently Basic electrical and mechanical skills and knowledge around gears, pulleys, chains, machinery, and electronic controls. Understand and use basics of machine mechanic and technician level tools Understand basics of AC, DC, 5v, 24v, 110v, 208v3ph and multimeter usage Have time management skills to balance needs and priorities Communicate in a manner that conveys needed information to others Build positive relationships with customers Specialist should have basic toolsets, while any specialty tools will be provided COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Full Time Medical, Dental, Life, LTD, STD, LTC Insurance Plans 401k with Company Match PTO Paid Holidays Shift is open to discussion for a 4x10 (Sunday-Thursday).
