Rochs Fresh Food West Greenwich has been in the produce business since the 1930s. It began as a family business and remains a family business today. Roch's Fresh Food services retail & food service customers all over southern New England. We operate a state-of-the-art HACCP-certified distribution warehouse in West Greenwich. We currently have 2-3 Warehouse Order Selector Positions to fill. The typical shift starts at 12 noon and ends at 8 pm but the end time varies based on work. The warehouse is open 24/7 year-round with the exception of Christmas and Thanksgiving. Scheduled workdays may include holidays, but will include holiday pay. Sundays are paid at a rate of time & 1/2 as are holidays. More hours available at times for those who wish to contribute more. Responsibilities of Warehouse Case Picker Order Selector • General warehouse duties: loading, unloading, sorting, and moving products and materials manually and using material handling equipment • Be able to lift, push, pull 75 pounds with no assistance • Pick orders from picking lists and assemble orders into delivery pods for drivers • Stock shelves, keep stock clean and in sequence • Mark pods with identifying information • Perform general cleaning duties • Knowledgeable on how to stack/cube-out pallets using proper loading techniques, shrink-wrap and label pallets • Must be able to work at a fast pace making repetitive motions with efficiency and accuracy • Work in a freezer/refrigerated environment 60% of the time Requirements of the Warehouse Case Picker Order Selector • Prior experience as warehouse worker; understanding of general warehouse operations necessary • Experience operating material handling equipment is a plus but will train • Picking/packing experience in a warehouse environment necessary • Experience using RF Scanner is a plus • Prior experience working in a freezer/refrigerated environment and/or working with fresh produce/food products is a plus • Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses • Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. • Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English fluently PHYSICAL ABILITIES commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
