The national Home Run for Julian tour is starting today in Miami and will hit 15 US cities before ending in Washington, DC on July 1st.
Julian's father and brother will be traveling to meet with journalists, activists, academics, political figures, and anyone who values freedom of the press and free speech. Their goal is to pressure the US government to drop its persecution of this courageous journalist.
It should not be a crime to expose crime! Free Assange!
The tour will stop in Minneapolis on June 21.
There is a "feeder tour" traveling with the following itinerary:
June 14 - St Louis, Columbia
June 15 - Jefferson City, Springfield, Wichita
June 16 - Salina, Manhattan, Topeka
June 17 - Lawrence, Kansas City
June 18 - Leavenworth, St Joseph, Lincoln, Omaha
June 19 - Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Des Moines
June 20 - Davenport, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo
June 21 - Mason City, Rochester, Minneapolis
We will be carrying a banner that we will set up in each city in a city park or some other venue suggested as we go. The banner will collect signatures in support of Julian that we will give to his dad and brother in Minneapolis for them to present in DC. Let the voice of the people be heard!
We'll also raise awareness in local communities by doing radio and TV interviews, distributing literature, and, in general, rousing the rabble.
If people join us en route, great. Imagine a swelling caravan arriving in Minneapolis in support of the people's right to know about war crimes committed in their name.
