Wendylicious Nigerian Cuisine is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to help out the Chef and other kitchen staff for wedding catering. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for taking an ongoing inventory of ingredients to ensure nothing is running low, food prep, assisting the chef with cooking and meal prep ahead of the event date. If you have previous kitchen experience cooking for a large crowd, can work well in a fast-paced environment, trained cooks and people who just love to cook, we want to hear from you! RESPONSIBILITIES * Assist in meal prepping, and making sure that the kitchen has the right inventory to begin * Maintain the kitchen by cleaning prep areas before and after use and making sure that all knives and critical equipment are clean * Assist the Chef or Sous Chef in preparing the ingredients for the main dish and side dish in proper time for the event * Pack foods and properly store for future use REQUIREMENTS * School leaver’s certificate required * 2+ years’ experience in food prep (Home cooks that have experience cooking for a large number of people are more than welcome to apply) * Must be able to stand for long hours and lift up to 50 lbs, and use kitchen equipment properly * Excellent communication skills * Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team * Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Food manager's certification a bonus * Experience preparing Nigerian Foods a bonus Apply by sending your resume to the email listed.
