Looking for a rabbit? Adopt from a rescue!

Description

For a small adoption fee, you are saving a life, you get a rabbit who is already spay/neutered, and you are not contributing to the overpopulation of unwanted rabbits. Rabbits are very expensive to get fixed ($300+), which many new rabbit parents find out when they adopt a young rabbit who then starts to reach maturity and develops behavior problems. Unfixed female rabbits have an 80% chance of developing uterine cancer by age 3. Even if you have your heart set on a particular kind of bunny, rescues often get in all kinds of rabbits. Lops, Giants, Angoras, Lionheads, Palminos, Mini-Rex, Rex, Dutch, and Polish rabbits can all commonly be found at area rescues. Oregon Humane Society, Humane Society for Southwest Washington, Multnomah County Animal Services, and Rabbit Advocates all have rabbits in need of homes.
