Jazz standards

Description

I'm a 50 year old, relatively new to bass but not music. I'm hoping to meet some others in the area for informal get-togethers playing jazz standards. I'm focusing on learning walking bass lines (with the intent to improvise) and I have an acoustic bass which can be amplified. Hopefully there's a guitarist or drummer that wants to play jazz standards but isn't very experienced. Or, conversely, if you have experience and want to 'lift someone up' I'd love to learn.
