Cookbook author currently Zoom-interviewing to hire a combination freelance handyman / handywoman / driver to tackle home, organizing and garden / outdoor challenges, as well as to drive to Manhattan / Brooklyn / Queens / Staten Island and Jersey City / Newark / Montclair-area grocery stores on a 2-time a month basis starting mid-June, 2021. Home location is on Kensington Avenue between Kennedy Boulevard and Bergen Avenue in the McGinley Square / Journal Square area, and there is well-lighted street parking or across-our-driveway parking available. As a handyman or handywoman you should be both intelligent and creative about solutions in response to a pre-written to-do list. Fix-it and organizational challenges range from helping to organize household goods to cleaning and refilling a 30-gallon aquarium with assistance, hanging paintings, scraping and repainting rusted items to moving 35-pound boxes and tossing and fluffing 15-lb feather beds with assistance. Outdoor activities (including climbing on ladders) range from cleaning home wooden siding, sanding and repainting wooden furniture and wrought iron bannisters and spray painting various fixtures and household items. No plumbing or electrical background required, and no unpleasant personal or caretaking tasks are involved. Must have safe vehicle with working heat and air conditioning, in-good-standing driver’s license and current auto insurance and proof of being 3 weeks past your second Moderna or Pfizer COVID vaccination. A criminal and financial background check will also be performed as part of the hiring process at the employer’s expense. Masks will be required for all indoor work, but not outdoors. Payment is $25 per hour, not including a one-hour lunch break, for the hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a total of $200 per day paid immediately by Venmo, personal check, PayPal or Chase Zelle QuickPay after each day of work. When driving to NYC, the boroughs, Jersey City, or other parts of NJ, CT or PA, employer will also pay for all gas, tolls and parking fees, including any parking tickets incurred.
