The Portland Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is hosting our annual Portland Action Day event /sun-filled social /river cleanup! The Portland Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is hosting our annual Portland Action Day event /sun-filled social /river cleanup! Please RSVP on here so we can get an accurate head-count - we can only have 50 attendees. As the Portland Chapter of Surfrider, our mission is to "keep it clean upstream" to prevent pollution from reaching our North Coast beaches. At the Portland Action Day we'll be cleaning up the beach at Sellwood Riverfront Park and paddling up to Ross Island to clean up the southern end of the island. Just like 2 years ago, there will be fun prizes for those who collect the most 'unique' cleanup items :D We are still working out the details in terms of securing kayaks/paddle boards with Next Adventure - but we highly suggest bringing your own kayak or paddle board or borrow from your friends/family if you can for the afternoon. If you are not a water person, we will also have volunteers staying on land cleaning up Sellwood Park. Surfrider Portland is planning to provide some beverages (non-alcoholic) and hopefully we can secure some snacks as well! Please be sure to bring your own mug/cup/reusable water bottle, as we don't want to create more waste. Please dress for the weather and bring plenty of water. About Us The Portland Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation’s work is focused keeping it clean upstream through our programs including #DitchTheStrawPDX, Ocean Friendly Restaurants, Green Streets,  Hold On To Your Butt programs and our Blue Water Task Force water quality monitoring program out on the north coast.
