Description
Ever notice a statue and had no idea what it was about? This bike tour will highlight several of DC's coolest overlooked memorials. Casual cycling tour of forgotten memorials of DC! DC is a city with so many memorials, you are likely to bump into one if you turn left or right. Or you may have passed some of these historic markers and monuments hundreds of times but never realized it. What better way to cover some ground and see some sights scattered around DC than by bike! Join Jeff Miller, the DC Cycling Concierge for the first in a series of Conte's Community Rides. Hidden in Plain Sight tour, as featured in the Washingtonian Magazine in January 2020, will be a memorable and casual / relaxed pace 3-hour bicycle ride as we check out a wide range of different memorials right before our eyes. This 8- to 10- mile ride includes several stops. We will be riding some city streets, but the route will be on quieter streets, streets with bike lanes, and bike trails, as much as possible. All bike types welcome, but if you have a choice bring your more comfortable ride with regular pedals (clipless pedals may not be as fun given all the stops and sites we'll be checking out). The ride will be capped at 20 people max, so please RSVP today! Cycling is my passion. D.C. is my city. The DC Cycling Concierge is an extension of my personal and professional passion to share the benefits and joys of bicycling. I'm a national cycling expert with 20 years as an executive leading the charge for better biking. I’ve biked across this great country and more than 20 others around the world. As a D.C. local, I ride every single day, whether running errands, with my kids, or getting out on to the back roads of the beautiful countryside for a leisurely ride or challenging workout. From adventure cyclist and triathlete to bike safety teacher and dedicated advocate, I’ve made cycling my life — and I want each guest to have the best possible experience on a bike.
