Join this football FUNdamentals camp while giving back! Camper fees and canned goods will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
Jack Rhoades, a 17-year old St. Xavier student, founded the Tackle Hunger Football Camp out of his inspiration by the both the St. Xavier Canned Food Drive and his love of football. His favorite part of the canned food drive was the camaraderie brought on by working with his classmates and community to help aid the battle on hunger. Also, Jack had the opportunity to care for his youngest brother through years of summer breaks. His brother was just starting to embrace football, and some of their fondest memories of summer were spent practicing early morning football drills and exercises.
For these reasons, this camp is designed to give back to the community by fighting hunger, provide participants a way to engage in an excellent service opportunity, and help young and impressionable players develop a basic understanding and love for the sport.
Camp OverviewTackle Hunger Football Camp is a non-profit children’s event occurring 6-8:30p ET for three days each summer. The event targets children entering 3rd through 5th grade. The camp focuses on football instruction in a fun and safe, no-contact environment while at the same time giving campers a stepping stone to becoming a more confident football player. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt, associate with some of the best young athletes in the Cincinnati area, and will hear a motivational speech from a local football celebrity. The cost per camper is $30 and a canned good donation each day of camp.
