Description
HellonHeels 5th Annual Luncheon and Shoe Parade featuring Hon. Eva Guzman, Justice Supreme Court of Texas We're back! Our annual lunch tradition is BACK for it's 5th year. We started #HellonHeels as a way to meet other women lawyers across Texas. At that first lunch, we had 30 women attend just with a Facebook post. Since then we’ve grown to over 1,300 Texas women lawyers across and some beyond, from all practice areas. Our mission is to have a place to connect with women lawyers in a way that is positive, supportive, and empowering of each other. Join us for our 5th Annual luncheon. Any #HoH get-together would be incomplete without shoes! So wear your most fabulous shoes and dance with us in our shoe parade. We will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for the most fabulous shoes. Bring your best shoe game! Our tradition of featuring dynamic speakers continues this year with the incomparable Justice Eva Guzman of the Supreme Court of Texas. She began her judicial service on the 309th District Court in Harris County, following an appointment by former Governor George W. Bush. After ascending to the Houston-based Fourteenth Court of Appeals, Justice Guzman ruled on thousands of complex civil and criminal cases and authored hundreds of opinions in nearly a decade of service as an intermediate appellate court judge. In 2009, former Governor Rick Perry appointed Justice Guzman to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court of Texas. When she was elected to a full term in November 2010, she became the first Hispanic woman elected to statewide office in Texas. Six years later, she made history twice more: she received the most votes ever in a Texas Republican Party primary with 1.27 million votes and won re‑election that November with a record‑setting 4.88 million votes—the highest vote total for any office in Texas election history. Now in her 21st year on the bench, Justice Guzman has consistently received high marks in judicial evaluation polls. There are 3 levels of ticket purchases available. First, there are 2 VIP tables -- one hosting the speaker and the other hosting the shoe parade judges. Those tables are $600 each and include 8 seats + 2 guests of honor. The second level is Table Sponsorship, which is $350 for a table of 10. The third level is for individual general admission tickets at $35 each. All guests receive lunch at the lovely buffet at The Menger. Please also note the add-on sponsorships that will help us keep the costs of the luncheon manageable and also make it more special. These include the Shoe Parade main sponsor, table decorations, program, cookie gift, CLE accreditation, and av equipment. Without sponsorship of these items, we will not be able to do them, as we do not build in any surplus to cover incidental costs. SAVE THE FEES charged by Eventbrite by contacting Michelle or Traci directly and paying by check. Contact Michelle [email protected] or Traci [email protected] directly for more information.
