Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 06/06/2021 211562228 Preliminary information:  On June 5, 2021 at around 11:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to a vehicle accident at I-75/85 SB at GA 166.  Upon arrival, officers located a total of five vehicles involved in the accident. Preliminary investigation indicated a driver pulled over their Chevy Cruze to the far left emergency lane due to a flat tire. Another driver, driving a Honda pulled over to assist the motorist with the flat tire and while doing so, their Honda was struck from behind by a Nissan Murano. The impact caused the Honda to collide into the Chevy Cruze. During this time, the driver of the Honda was standing outside of her vehicle and was struck by the impact of the collision. The Nissan Murano continued across the highway and was struck by an Infiniti that then sideswiped a Ford van. There was a passenger sitting inside of the Honda when it was struck from behind and he was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Honda was also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Nissan Murano was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Charges are pending at this time and the investigation continues.  Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.  UPDATE: The at fault driver, 21-year-old Marquis Johnson was charged with: -DUI Less Safe -Serious injury by Vehicle This press release was produced by the Atlanta Police Department.
