Description

I have 7 Fire Belly Toads (Frogs) that need a new home. I have pet Fire Belly Toads that had babies in the summer of 2020. I wanted to wait until the tadpoles had grown into good sized baby frogs before re-homing. They are about 2 inches long now. Since Fire Belly Toads like the company of other Fire Belly Toads, I will only let them go in groups of 2 or more (unless you already have some). Here's a link with basic information on Fire Belly Toads - https://www.thesprucepets.com/oriental-fire-bellied-toads-1236815 Fire Belly Toads do not do well with other species in their tank. So you cannot have fish or other frogs in the same habitat. They tend to like 50% water/50% land habitats. As far as frogs go, I think they are the best choice as a pet... They are awake during the daytime, they are aggressive eaters so when you put crickets in their tank it's really something to watch as they hunt. If you go with a really basic tank setup, you'll need to change most of the water out on a weekly basis. I use spring water, but you can use treated tap water if you use the right treatments. Just like fish, straight tap water will kill them. I went with a more sophisticated tank with live plants. After the tank reaches balance, it doesn't need as much maintenance. Once you get the nitrogen cycle working well, you only have to change a little bit of the water every couple of weeks. I am charging a small re-homing fee to insure you are not doing this on a whim and that you will spend the time and money to set them up in a nice habitat. $20/frog Let me know if you have questions.
