Rehoming 3ish Year Old Pit Bull Mix

Description

Boomer is a very sweet pup and loves making new friends! We think he may be mixed with Boxer but we're not sure. Here's his history: About 2 years ago a friend left Boomer with my boyfriend because their family suddenly had to move and the place they were going to stay in temporarily did not allow pets. My boyfriend made it clear he did not have the means, space or free time to accommodate Boomer for very long, maximum two months. His friend agreed. Well, it's been almost two years now and it's evident his friend doesn't intend to take him back, but neither of us have the means to properly take care of him (i.e. he needs to be neutered still). He's good with other dogs but hasn't been too socialized with them recently. Has not been exposed to cats really, just the strays and he tries to chase them. He definitely does well with kids though. Good watch dog in the sense that he's all bark but no bite. He gets bathed regularly and he's not the biggest fan but he'll let you do it. He's house-trained and kennel-trained, knows "sit", "lay down", "fry" to know it's okay to eat, and "outside". Have been working on "shake" but haven't quite gotten it yet. If he's being too excitable at the wrong time you can tell him "go lay down", and he will understand it's time to settle down and will go to his kennel. He feels his kennel is his safe space but he does seem to have some separation anxiety as once you get home he will whine to be let out of the kennel. We are currently working on training this out of him. Ideally he needs a family with a fenced in yard, or people able to give him adequate exercise if there isn't a fenced in area. He will come with his kennel, bedding (if desired, they're just old blankets/sheets that get cleaned regularly), food, leash, shock collar, bath soap, some treats and a couple of toys. Rehoming fee of $50 requested. Please let me know if you have any questions and if you would like to set up a time to meet Boomer!
