Farm Assistant / Farm Labor Part-time, flexible hours Needs to be able to work on specific mornings, weekends, or evenings Wildgust Farm is a Small, woman-owned, urban farm in West Sacramento. We grow seasonal produce and herbs on a small-scale, biodynamic farm using organic farming practices. We are looking for honest, reliable, hard-workers who are available part-time on weekends, evenings, and occasional mornings. Farm assistants help in weekly farm operations with crop seeding, planting, cultivating (weeding), irrigating, harvesting, processing, packaging, marketing, and shipping. Successful candidates are self-starters, observant, take excellent notes, communicates clearly, follows directions, and shows hustle and resilience out in the field. Candidates must be able to commit to specific work days and hours so that farm operations can be planned in advance. Candidates must: - be able to work outside for 4-6 hours at a time in summer temperatures. - have reliable transportation and commit to specific days of work - bring proper farm attire: long sleeves, pants, sturdy boots, gloves, a hat, handkerchief, and knee pads. A personal water bottle is also required when onsite. - Be able to use hand tools safely - Be able to able to lift 25-50lbs - Be fluent in English Hand tools will be provided. Previous experience not required, but experience in agriculture, landscaping, or outdoor industries is preferred. All candidates will be required to sign liability waivers.
