Wake County Animal Shelter in need of Volunteer dog walkers

I'm a volunteer dog walker at the Wake County Animal Shelter and we desperately need more walkers in the program. On average we have approximately 20-35 dogs to get out and the goal is to give them 2-3 walks daily. If volunteers don't come, they dogs don't get out of their kennels. The shelter is very clean and the dogs are very well take care of during their stay and now we just need more people to help give them exercise and socialization that they desperately need. The volunteer program is also a way to meet wonderful people and get exercise yourself. If you are someone who loves animals, but doesn't have the time or financial ability to own a dog, this is a great way to help the dogs and not have the responsibility of full time ownership. It's a fun program that is very rewarding! Walking hours are 7 days per week 8:30 (or 9am on weekends) to 6pm every day. You can choose which hours you want to walk.
