Description

This in-person workshop will explore ethics from a dialectical perspective. Ethical dilemmas in clinical practice are not easy to reconcile, but a dialectical framework can help us integrate competing values and principles. Case examples will be presented and wrestled with through mindful, collegial conversation. CDC-recommended COVID precautions will be observed. 3.0 hours of Ethics CEUs available for LPC, LMFT, and LCSW. About the Presenter: Kris Bryant LPC studied Psychology at Southern Nazarene University (2006) and Counseling Psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma (2009). He received intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through the Linehan Institute in 2011. As a supervising clinician for a community mental health center in Oklahoma City, he was integral in developing the first outpatient DBT program for adolescents in the state of Oklahoma. He was appointed by Governor Mary Fallin to the Oklahoma Suicide Prevention Council where he served from 2013-2020. Kris is the founder & owner of DBT Institute Oklahoma City and Neighborhood Counseling Guthrie. DBT Institute Oklahoma City is a private mental health practice where we live and breathe Dialectical Behavior Therapy. We help people build lives worth living in a mindful, collegial atmosphere.
