Description
Colorado's food & beverage industry workers volunteer to feed people in the Denver area. Join our volunteer group of fellow industry workers to assemble bags and boxes of goods to be distributed through Metro Caring's food pick-up program. Because of group volunteers, Metro Caring is able to distribute 2+ million pounds of nutritious food per year to local hungry families and individuals, while also providing education and tools to help participants improve their health and reach their potential. FREE PARKING: Saint Joseph Hospital allows Metro Caring volunteers to park for free on the top floor of their parking garage, located on Ogden Street between 19th and 20th avenues. *** What do I wear to volunteer? We ask that you dress appropriately for the work you might do. Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that you might be okay with getting a little dirty. Do I need to bring anything? It might be helpful to bring a water bottle and a sweater (between our cooler and freezer, it can tend to be a little cool in some places). Do I need to wear a mask? Yes, it is required to wear a mask when entering and at all times inside our building and when interacting with community members. Please wear one upon your arrival for your shift and keep it on at all times covering your mouth and nose. If you do not have one, we will provide one for you, for the day prior to entering our building. Do I need to bring gloves? Metro Caring will provide gloves for every shift. Will I be safe volunteering? We take the safety and well-being of our volunteers very seriously and it is always a top priority for us. We are keeping up with and following CDC guidelines and have put in place multi-level screening procedure. We ask all volunteers to wear a mask at all times during their shift. We are providing proper PPE for all of our volunteers. We are taking temperatures of anyone who enters our building and practicing social distancing between individuals and community members.
