Feel the heat of West Africa and West Oakland as African musical titans MAMADOU SIDIBE (N'goni, vocals) and MASSAMBA DIOP (Tama, percussion) join forces with Oakland's own BOBBY WALLACE(Percussion, vocals) and NICCO TYSON (Guitar, vocals) for this unforgettable LIVE sunset concert at Oakland's #1 Waterfront Venue. Radio AFRO-FUNK turns the dial to groove-heavy traditional and new music from Mali and Senegal, along with original compositions from The Town, all infused with dizzying improvisation and adventurous backbeat. This event is 100% COVID Compliant! With it's spacious open air atmosphere set right on the Oakland waterfront, Rocky's is the ideal place for music lovers who've been holed up all year to make a sweet return to going out. Radio AFRO-FUNK artists have collectively performed with Peter Gabriel, Oumou Sangare, Carlos Santana, Baaba Maal, James Brown, Margareth Menezes, Herbie Hancock, Toumani Diabate and Bonnie Riatt. Special Guest artist MASSAMBA DIOP won the 2019 Grammy and Oscar awards for his contributions to the soundtrack to the blockbuster film the BLACK PANTHER. Rocky's Market Brooklyn Basin Restaurant has a delicious full menu of California style cuisine made with fresh ingredients from their market and a delicious selection of wine , beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Kitchen will remain open until 8:30pm and drinks will be available throughout the show. VIP seats $25, General Admission $15. Limited capacity: 100.
