Free rescue dog to good home

I have a 5-6 year-old rescue from the Humane Society. He belonged to my mother and she has gotten sick and is no longer able to take care of him. He has a lot of energy. He is a herding dog, would probably be great at a farm. He gets along with her cats, but he herds them and constantly tells on them for playing (in a loving way- he comes immediately to me to make sure I am aware). He is very nice and incredibly smart. He makes up games and follows the rules he creates for them. He is due for rabies now, I am not in a position to keep him and I would like to find a good home for him. He is healthy and trainable, he just needs someone who is active and knows dogs. Please feel free to contact with questions.
