Cuban music and film screening on the last Chinese opera singer in Cuba Trio Cacique is Marcus Lopez, Bass/vocals; Evelio Roque Clarinet /Vocals and Ivan Camblor, Tres Guitar/Vocals. The trio is a unique blend of traditional Cuban music that incorporates Cuban son, boleros, guaracha and cha cha cha. Come dance with us! Documentary filmmaker Pok-Chi Lau presents Cuban Chinese, a film that focused on the last Chinese opera singer in Havana. Before 1959 Cantonese Chinese culture flourished in Havana. Caridad Amaran, a 4-year-old Caucasian orphan embraced the culture and carried the spirit in her heart. Now 82 years old, she continues to sing and perform publicly and also in her own private moments. Clarion Performing Arts Center provides education and live performance opportunities by fusing music, poetry, theater and visual art as one organic artistic experience for individuals and communities.
