Passionate Pair.iah Presents: Launch Thy Neighbor 21+ A showcase of diverse women chefs with wine pairings curated by the Passionate Pair.iah (certified sommelier) Ermoni Best at The Point! 21+ ---------------------- The Passionate Pair.iah uses knowledge of wine, spirits, and culinary arts, to create platforms that celebrate culture, and promote diversity, inclusion, and representation in the hospitality industry. Launch Thy Neighbor is the first movement used to empower and support members of marginalized communities. Yamma Chicago: was founded by three women inspired by the spices and traditional ingredients of Palestine, Chefs Roba Hassan and Tiera Hubbard; through the lenses of Katie Poplawski. Although, the spice palate is based off traditional Palestine, it incorporates the techniques learned by working in a wide variety of professional kitchens. American Street food executed by Chef Danielle Buchanan. While cooking helped to care for her great- grandparents in nursing homes, this lead to carrying on her families recipes and owning her own food truck. Preserving the spirit of family through comfort food, easily consumed anywhere. An Asian food Fusion particularly focused on Laotian cuisine as in the vision of Chef Brenda Siharath. As many parts of the Asian heritage are linked to her lineage, the Laotian cuisine is her focus but she incorporates all forms of her heritage for a modern twist on the classical techniques. The showcase is display of unique yet elevated chefs that represent marginalized groups. The chefs are motivated by their own cultural experiences but are also trained classically or in professionally trained kitchens. These chefs have their own following and success, but they can benefit from exposure to funding and to new audience networks.
