Presented by Aubrey Entertainment ALL AGES Wonderland Rangers, Nicholas Mallis, Calico Vision Poppin' and a Rockin' three band summer bill on Thursday July 22nd at Southern Brewing Co! 9:35pm Wonderland Rangers - Timi Conley is known as “One of the world’s most fluid guitarists” (Flagpole Magazine), frontman of a wildly diverse range of musical projects, and creator and Master of Ceremonies of Athens’ annual Halloween event, Wild Rumpus Parade & Spectacle, which draws thousands to Athens, GA every year in October. Conley’s musical influences range from Hendrix to hillbilly, Beck to bebop, Funkadelic to Flaming Lips… With a background in visual art, his style and compositions are creative, colorful, often surprising and always fun and thought-provoking. Timi commands attention from the second he hits the stage with his unique voice, world class guitar tone and playing, and natural charismatic persona (not to mention the infamous red fedora). 8:45pm Nicholas Mallis - Over the past five years, Nicholas Mallis’ brand of weirdo pop and absurdist, over the top performances have been garnering him praise in Athens, Georgia and beyond. He has shared bills with indie pop greats like Dan Deacon and Kishi Bashi and even played as a side man in the solo efforts of Athens legends Cindi Wilson and Fred Schneider (The B-52’s). In 2019, Nicholas released Artificial Irrelevance, a collection of glam pop songs that Flagpole Magazine referred to as “timeless.” After spending a year touring with his backing band, Nicholas quickly turned out another album and was gearing up to tour the east coast again before COVID hit in 2020. The Final Station, released via Athens label Laser Brains, was recorded and produced by Nicholas at his home studio and mastered at The Glow by engineer/producer Jesse Mangum. In Glide Magazine’s review, they state that Nicholas’ music “feels like it came from the late 70s or early 80s during the creative, left-of-the-dial burst in alternative music while also sounding fresh and original.” 8pm Calico Vision is a 5 piece psych rock band from Athens Ga. Their music is similar to cat whiskers dipped in honey and glitter or a sunset viewed through a fun house mirror on a humid day.
